My newest toy!
No, this toy is not an iPod, iPhone, X-BOX, PlayStation3, Wii, laptop, or anything to do with computers and games at all! My newest toy is the Trek 7.5 FX Fitness Hybrid bike. A fitness hybrid bike has the wheels and speed of a road bike, but the flat handle bars of a mountain bike. It is slightly slower than a road bike, but faster compared to the mountain and hybrid comfort bikes. Last year...

Its Been Awhile since I've Posted (Sorry for the...
Its been awhile since I have posted to tumblr, since then…. 1) the markets crashed to 6500 and subsequently returned to about 8000. Originally, I wanted to buy as much as I could afford with the Dow below 7000. With the Dow at 8000, stocks are still relatively cheap and I think there are some true winners.  With that in mind, I am going to put another 1,000$ in the market. I know in the...

My apologies for the lack of posts and sharing of articles. I haven’t been feeling the greatest the past 4-5 days. The only way I can describe this is that I’ve been really tired when I have returned home from work. I feel alot better tonite and tomorrow I’ll be returning to the gym. Other cool things that I have been working on…. 1) Chinese class…it’s going...

iPhone 3G Review
I know I told many of my friends that I would never own an iPhone, but opinions change. It just happened that I was looking to upgrade to a 3G phone in conjunction with switching jobs. I went through a vetting process with the Android G1, Blackberry storm, and the iPhone 3G. Basically, I wanted to get away from the blackberry platform. I didn’t want to have access to my corporate email...

Apple fails at bluetooth support
I don’t understand apple. They have intentionally left certain bluetooth features disabled in the iPhone namely voice dialing from the headset. This absolutely ridiculous and is on par with verizon leaving wireless off the blackberry storm. More to come in my review.

Busy Busy Busy
I just wanted to write a quick update on the last two weeks or so. So far, I have survived the first 2 weeks of my job. It is quite interesting. I am enjoying being in corporate america for once. Things are alot slower paced. Sometimes that is a good thing and other times I wish the pace would pick up. I have survived the first week of my marathon training. I did runs of 3, 5, and 8 miles. The...

"Lasts" for awhile...
As I sit here in my home enjoying a few last beers until June, I thought it would be good to announce that on Monday, January 19th, I will start training for my second marathon. I have decided to enter the race known as Grandma’s. This is a race in Duluth, Minnesota on June 20th. This year I am going to be more disciplined in my training as far as eating more healthy foods and drinking less...

Looking for a new theme
Just a quick note - I am looking for a new tumblr theme. I don’t have time to create my own, so I’ll be google searching for ideas. If you find a cool theme, drop me a line and send me the link. I’m also going to add a feature that will display the “tags” on each post if I can find that on google.

Goals and an update on my major announcement
First my update to the announcement… Last week I announced that I was leaving my previous employer of 4+ years and taking a different position elsewhere. I wanted to give a brief update on the response to my farewell email and my observations of the new job so far. That job was my first one out of college and it was weird making the announcement and leaving the only office environment I...

Cox, others react to Smoltz's exit →
Sad day for me….My favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves, let John Smolts, the icon of the franchise for the last 20 years go. I can understand the braves don’t want to take a chance on a 42 year-old pitcher that has 5 screws in his shoulder, but, its John Smoltz! Best of Luck to you, Smoltzie, and I hope the Braves get their acts together….please don’t screw over any...

Major Announcement 1
Today, I announced my departure from my current employer, a large accounting/consulting firm. Included with this posting you will find the text of my farewell email. I’m really excited to be starting with my new employer, but will also miss the people I’ve worked with for the past 4+ years. Reactions were mixed with people happy for the opportunity that I have and sad to see me leave....

Warming up for 2009 training season....
I must admit getting back into the swing of training for races has been more difficult than past years. I left the country on a much needed overseas adventure to India (I plan on writing about this in an upcoming post) for 20 days, 3 of which were spent in New York City recovering from jet lag and catching up with friends. Once I returned from India, I spent a day at the office and headed to Iowa...
